Foreword: Supashakes are rip offs, really, it's just like they give you less milk in a carton so there's enough room to shake it up. The premise is annoying, since they're giving me less of what I want, for a quality that I wouldn't really desire in the first place. Though, they are one of those items that just bring me back to earlier years. I remember when they first came out, in Year 5 or so.. and I thought they were absolutely awesome, because there were new flavours. The Dome coffee one was the best thing in existence at the time, and I would drink one as often as I could.. Really, I'm surprised I remember all this, just because I have the memory of a goldfish, normally.
Just let me get this out of the way; cookies and cream ice cream is one of the single greatest things ever. It is probably my favourite sweet thing in the world, and I could be easily satisfied living off the stuff, despite the inevitable onslaught of diabetes, pimples and obesity. I love the little chunks of cookie dough and how they're all chewy. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. But back to a relevant point; supposedly there was some sort of competition to make a new flavour of Supashake (what is it with all these types of competitions anyway? Can't the people make up their own flavours?).. and cookies and cream won out. This decision gives me a little bit of hope for Australia, due to my aforementioned love of the stuff. Now at least I can have a taste of potential liquid gold.
The obvious flaw in the drink itself is that it lacks my favourite part of the ice cream; the little chewy bits of cookie.. it's all just liquid. Which I mean, I completely saw coming but I'm still disappointed. the taste itself isn't bad, kind of how you would expect the ice cream would taste if it was melted to a completely liquid state. The colour is rather appealing; reminiscent of the ice cream; that kind of dirty, marbly, chocolate look.
Overall, it's not a bad drink by any means.. but I'll take melted cookies and cream over this any day of the week, I need to chew things, dammit!
